What is the accurate diagnosis of a flexor tendon tear?
 

 

 
Flexor tendons (and pulley tendons) are best imaged with diagnostic ultrasound. If we cannot correctly see the injured structures to provide a diagnosis, then we turn to MRI or CT. Here is a lovely picture of a finger with a flexor tendon rupture (complete tear).
